PDP sets up panel to consider waiver for Ribadu, Marwa, others

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) rose from a late night meeting Wednesday announcing the postponement of the screening for all its 14 aspirants for the governorship of Adamawa State.
The meeting which ended at 8.15 pm also set up a committee to consider the applications of some of the aspirants who defected to the PDP from the All Progressives' Congress (APC).
The Committee was to submit its report Friday.
Also, the names of members of the screening committee would be announced Friday.
National Organising Secretary, Abubakar Mustapha, disclosed to journalists shortly after the meeting that the screening of the aspirants earlier scheduled to hold Thursday have been shifted to Saturday.
But on the issue of waiver, he simply declared that "All the applications for waiver are receiving attention".
It was learnt that a special committee was set up by the NWC to thoroughly consider them and submit report Friday.
Also confirming the development, National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, said a four member committee headed by the National Organising Secretary had been set up to consider the waiver applications.
Among the committee members are the  National Legal Adviser, National Publicity secretary and the National Financial Secretary.
