Syria calls attacks on civilians “outrageous”
The Syrian Government has condemned the killing of more than 100 civilians in Nigeria this week in multiple bomb attacks, calling blasts the “outrageous”.
The first attack occurred on Sunday in Kano, killing at least four people. Twin car bombs killed at least 118 people in Jos, Plateau State, on Tuesday.
There have also been a series of raids by gunmen on communities in Borno State, with dozens more killed.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but extremist sect, Boko Haram, is suspected.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates denounced the attacks in a statement Friday.
It called for a global action against terrorism and urged the international community to expose members and sponsors of “Wahabi Takfiri” terrorism and bring them to justice.
Terrorism “presents a clear jeopardy to the stability of countries which often fall prey to similar attacks,” and its “catastrophic consequences” on world nations and the international peace and security, Syria said.
Syria is fighting a three-year old brutal civil war that began after rebels demanded that President Bashir Al-Assad leave office.
