Civil Society Groups Beg Atiku To Declare Ambition

 
The presidential bid of former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar yesterday received another boost as civil society groups under the aegis of Coalition of Civil Society of Nigeria beg him to urgently declare his intention to contest the 2015 presidential election.
The leader of the group, Ambassador Ibn Ahmad who made the call while speaking to journalists in Abuja, stated that Nigeria is in dire need of a leader who is visionary, courageous and proactive, which they said Atiku Abubakar represents.
Ambassador Ibn Ahmad said the Coalition of Civil Society of Nigeria took a critical study of the activities of Atiku Abubakar from his SDP days through his tenure as vice president under Obasanjo till date, and concluded that he is the ‘messiah’ that Nigeria needs at this trying moment in the history of its existence.
He disclosed that the group is mobilizing over 5 million Nigerians to support its call on Atiku and promised to work with other vibrant political and non-political organizations in Nigeria to embark on house to house campaign with the view to guarantee victory come 2015.  
The leader of the group revealed that Nigeria is beclouded with security and social challenges which is affecting development, stressing that the group was frantically begging the former vice president to come out and save Nigeria from total collapse.
He further stated that Atiku has demonstrated that he is a true democrat and urged Nigerians to support him ahead of the 2015 elections.
Ambassador Ibn Ahmad who said Atiku Abubakar has been in politics for over thirty years has learnt the vigours of politics and is coming into the race with his wealth of experience.
He urged the former vice president to declare his ambition as 5 million Nigerians will be mobilized for him on the day of his declaration.
