Police Denies Receiving N19.7bn Helicopter, Security Equipment Funds From CBN As Sanusi Claimed

Every single day appears to come with a different story in relation to the suspended Central Bank Of Nigeria Governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.
A certain N19.7bn which Sanusi had stated was paid at President Goodluck Jonathan’s instruction for purchase of security helicopters and equipment, has been denied by the Police authorities and Police Affairs ministry.
This denial came during an investigation of disbursement of government funds by the House of representatives public accounts committee. The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar  who was represented by an Assistant Inspector General of Police, Ilesanmi Aguda said the Police knew nothing about that amount and therefore refused to answer further questions on that subject. He stated that the Ministry Of Police will be in a better position to respond to the the query based on their oversight function over the Nigerian Police.
The committee chairman, Solomon Olamilekan, revealed that the permanent secretary of the Police ministry had formally informed him that the ministry knew nothing about the money.
This may lead to a public outcry about the whole Sanusi saga which is getting more complex as the days go by.
