William Kwasi Ahamazie, Chief
Executive Officer (CEO) of Job and Talent Hunt International, is said to have
collected GH¢ 16,800.00 from 27 people.
He was put before a Kumasi
Circuit Court presided over by Mr William Boampong on Tuesday charged with
defrauding by false pretence and he pleaded not guilty.
He was granted a GH¢ 200,000.00
bail to make his next appearance on June 30.
Police Inspector Gulliver Kwabena
Tenkorang said the accused had in 2010 convinced the complainant, Stephen
Okyere, that he could assist him gain employment with the Customs Division of
the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
The latter became interested and
he was asked to pay GH¢600.00, which he did.
The accused again told him to
bring in others eager to join the Police Service as well as other divisions of
the GRA.
Okyere informed 26 other
individuals, who fell for the bait and they each paid GH¢600.00 but after
taking the money Ahamazie was not heard of again until the complainant caused
his arrest.
The prosecution said the accused
in his caution statement admitted taking the monies and promised a refund but
he failed to keep his word.
