The new Ministers are: Nii Osah
Mills, a former President of the Ghana Bar Association as Minister-Designate
for Lands and Natural Resources, Mr. James Zuugah Tiigah, currently with Ghana’s Permanent Mission to
the United Nations, as Minister-Designate for the Upper East Region.
Mr. Jonny Osei Kofi of the Kwame
Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), as Deputy
Minister-Designate for Water Resources, Works and Housing.
The old Ministers whose
portfolios have changed are a former Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Kwaku
Agyeman-Mensah, is now the Minister-Designate for Health, whilst Madam Hanny-Sherry Ayittey the Health
Minister, has been re-assigned to the
Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture.
Mr. Akwasi Oppong- Fosu, Minister
for Local Government and Rural Development, has been re-assigned to the
Ministry of the Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation.
According to the statement, also
re-assigned is the Minister for Roads and Highways, Alhaji Amin Amidu Sulemani,
who now becomes the Upper West Regional Minister.
The Deputy Minister for Trade and
Industry, Mr Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, has been re-assigned to the Ministry
of Local Government and Rural Development, whilst Mr Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala,
Deputy Minister for Information and Media Relations, now moves to the Ministry
of Employment and Labour Relations.
According to the statement, the
President acted in accordance with Article 79(1) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.
