Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku
GNA - Dr. Kofi
Konadu Apraku, an aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate,
has said he was more than mature to lead the party to win power in 2016.
Dr Apreku, a minister in the erstwhile
Kufuor Administration, said this when he addressed constituency and other executives
of the party to canvas for votes
in the upcoming Super Congress of NPP to select five out of seven
aspirants.
He said it was time for the NPP to win power
since Ghanaians would not forgive NPP if they failed to rescue them from the
economic mess created by NDC government.
Dr. Appaku said the delegates were managers
and owners of the party and they could decide to vote massively for him in the
National Delegate Congress slated for December to become flag bearer.
He said unity was the ultimate goal that
would assist the NPP to win power in 2016, adding that he had no faction in the
party and would continue to remain neutral to promote peace and stability.
Dr. Apraku said it was time for the party to
adopt a new procedure to select parliamentary candidates to avoid “skirt and
blouse” voting.
He said out of 23 parliamentary seats in the
Central Region, NPP won only seven in the 2012 election, adding that this
happened because of outmoded selection used that created confusion and disunity
among members.
